Questions

How long does the quiz take?

Most people finish in under three minutes. There are 25 statements: 16 about your personal values and 9 about your social ethics, plus one optional question about where you place yourself politically.

What does the quiz measure?

Two things. Your personal values are the things that matter to you in life, from liberal to conservative. Your social ethics are how you choose to promote those values to other people: by persuasion, or by physical coercion.

What are the possible results?

Four: Liberal Libertarian, Conservative Libertarian, Liberal Democrat and Conservative Republican. Your personal values place you as liberal or conservative, and your social ethics place you as libertarian (persuasion) or as a Democrat or Republican (coercion).

How is it scored?

You answer each statement on a six-point scale from strongly disagree to strongly agree, with no neutral middle. Each half of the quiz is averaged, and the midpoint of the scale divides liberal from conservative and persuasion from coercion.

Do I need to sign up?
